
Tim Fitzsimons is a New York City-based reporter covering LGBTQ news for NBC Out, the LGBTQ destination of NBC News. As a print reporter, Tim has written about an HIV prevention pill, a port in Oman, prisoner art classes at Guantanamo Bay, discriminatory banking practices in American immigrant communities, and Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

John Ditch graduated from the University of York in 1974 with a BA Social Sciences (Politics) degree and then studied for a BPhil in Sociology, my PhD was awarded by the University of Ulster. Now he has his own company, JD-MG Consulting Ltd, and continue to be active in areas of social policy.

Paul Krugman joined The New York Times in 1999 as an Op-Ed columnist. He is distinguished professor in the Graduate Center Economics Ph.D. program and distinguished scholar at the Luxembourg Income Study Center at the City University of New York. In 2008, Mr. Krugman was the sole recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his work on international trade theory.

Aditya Chakrabortty is senior economics commentator for the Guardian, where he writes a regular column and reports from around Britain and the world. In December 2017, he won the British Journalism Award for Comment Journalist of the year. His work has also won a Social Policy Association award, a Harold Wincott prize for Business Journalism and he was also a finalist for an Orwell Prize for journalism in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Aditya has been an economics journalist for over twenty years.

Peter Lanjouw (PhD London School of Economics) is professor in development economics. Prior to joining the VU Economics department in January 2015 he had spent more than two decades in the Development Economics Research Group of the World Bank, most recently as Manager of the Poverty and Inequality team . He is current editor of the World Bank Research Observer and a past assistant editor of the World Bank Economic Review. He is a core member of the Global Poverty Commission, convened by the World Bank.

Their current work is threefold:
-Supporting people living in poverty to have the confidence to speak and people in positions of power to have the confidence to listen.
-Supporting other organisations who would like to work in similar ways.
-Using social media to share the stories of people living in poverty.

Herbert J Gans has replaced full time teaching with full time writing, but continues to teach the now 40 year old Field Methods course. He still writes about poverty and antipoverty policy, urban issues, the news media, and race and ethnicity, as well as about his career-long prime subject: equality and democracy.

Stephen Kidd is a Senior Social Policy Specialist at Development Pathways and has more than 30 years of experience working on social development and social protection across Africa, Asia, the Pacific and Latin America. Prior to joining Pathways, he was Director of Policy and Communications at HelpAge International, a Senior Social Development Adviser at DFID (where he led the Social Protection Policy Team), a lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh and worked for over 10 years in Paraguay on indigenous land rights.
